HOW TO MAKE A PUPPET

You will need: A small ball of dense material, a piece of cloth, thick wire, wool yarn, or straw, buttons, beads or cheap sewing buttons, cardboard, pencil, glue, thread and needles, a small bottle, awl, tape, fishing line, cardboard, wooden slats, a pair of scissors.

1. So, having prepared everything necessary to start making dolls. You should start with the head. Take a small ball of hard material, for example, a tennis ball, and wrap it with a thick cloth, tying the ends of the united threads. Next, take the wire and pierce it on the head at ear level and the ends fold in loops.

2. Next you should decorate your head. The eyes, nose and mouth you can draw, make out of cardboard, buttons or beads and glue or sew to head. Hair can be made from straw or thick woolen threads. Divide your hair so that they covered wire-lugs. The head is ready.

3. The doll body can be made from a small plastic bottle, like bottle of shampoo or mineral water is the ideal one. With an awl make four punctures in places of fastening of arms and legs and insert into the holes pieces of wire length of 15-20 centimeters. Once again puncture the bottle on the back of the legs and also insert your wire. The wire may be fixed to the bottle with tape or sticky tape. On the ends of the wire make loops, as in the head.

4. Next, make the arms and legs. Small pieces of fishing line (15-20 centimeters) wrap the cardboard or heavy paper and roll into a narrow roll. You can do the legs and arms of two connected rolls, and then the limb can bend at the knees and elbows. One end of the roll, fasten with tape, the other attach to the body for the wire loops. Hands and feet can be made from colored cardboard.

5. Then you need to sew doll clothes from fabric. Clothing should be loose, so as not to embarrass the movements of the puppets. On the head can wear a hat or decorate your head wreath of flowers and leaves.

6. Our doll is ready. Next you need to make the hardware, managing its movements. Take three wooden planks with the tailor measuring tape, one of them with a length of 25 centimeters, the other 15 inches, and the third is 13 centimeters. First drill a hole at one end, while the second has one hole at opposite ends, and the third with two holes at opposite ends. Now connect the strap to the second and third strips are perpendicular to the first.

7. Connect the fastenings and loops on the fishing line puppet. Fishing line should be of different length: for hands – 50 cm, head is 40 cm, for 90 cm, back – 70 cm. If your child wants to control a puppet, the length of the lines can be proportionally reduced.
